Out on Bay Street provides bursaries for travel and accommodation to students in need in order to allow them to participate in our events. Please read the information below carefully before completing the attached bursary application form. Any incompletion of your application will delay your assessment and can potentially harm your chances of recovering funding.
What is it?
The bursary is generously provided by Out on Bay Street through the funding of our sponsors to offset the cost of travel to and accommodation for Out on Bay Street initiatives for students traveling from outside the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) who would otherwise not be able to attend Out on Bay Street events because of financial constraints.
[Note: Priority is given to students across Canada and students in an undergraduate, graduate and professional program of business, law or engineering.]
This year’s bursary includes:
- Up to a maximum of $200 reimbursement/allowance for costs related to transportation to and from the conference (students must choose the most economical means of transportation) and/or
- Hotel stay based on availability and location of the event
Am I eligible?
Current undergraduate, graduate and professional students enrolled in the 2011-2012 academic school year as well as recent graduates (Class of 2011) from an undergraduate, graduate or professional program are eligible.
When is the deadline?
All applications must be received via the form below at the following dates:
Annual Conference & Case Competition: By midnight EST, September 23, 2011
- Please note that delegates accepted for the accommodation bursary for the Annual Conference & Case Competition will be placed in a hotel room of 4, based on requests and arrangements made by Out on Bay Street’s Executives.
Late applications will only be assessed if time permits and if additional funds are available.
How do I Apply?
To apply for the bursary you must complete the application form below and attach the following documents:
- Proof of school enrollment via a letter or copy of official transcript
- Write a 300-word essay explaining why you are not able to cover the cost of traveling to and attending an Out on Bay Street event. [please attach only a typed-up copy that outlines the event you are applying to and is also signed and dated by yourself]
- A copy of your resume.
I have submitted the application form, now what?
A member of the Out on Bay Street team will assess your application and notify you on the status of your application as soon as possible.
Out on Bay Street is committed to ensuring all applications are private and confidential. All information is stored on a safe and secured network.

- An approximate cost of your travel expense and method (e.g. bus, train, plane, etc)
