Case Competition Registration

The Case Competition will challenge the innovation and entrepreneurial mindset of our delegates focusing on issues within the facets of business, law and technology. The original case specifically designed for Out on Bay Street’s Annual Conference and Case Competition will give our delegates the opportunity to:

  • Compete against the brightest students across Canada
  • Connect and impress a panel of judges from corporate and legal organizations
  • Inspire fellow delegates through leadership and presentation

Details of the Case Competition are as follows:

Teams will compete in a group of 3 (min) – 4 (max) that is comprised of any student within an undergraduate or graduate program across Canada.

There is a maximum of 15 teams that may compete and teams eligible for the Case Competition are subject to review by Out on Bay Street.

Note: There is a significant weight put on teams that register first.

Teams will receive the case one week in advance of the Annual Conference & Case Competition in order to prepare for their presentation with their group with their presentation due the night before their presentation is scheduled.

Dates of the Competition are as follows:

Final date for registration for the Case Competition: Sunday, August 19, 2012

Case released: Thursday, August 30, 2012 at midnight
Presentations due: Friday, September 7, 2012 at noon

Preliminary Round: Saturday, September 8, 2012 – 8:00am to 10:00am
[ 10 minute Presentation + 5 minute Question & Answer period ]

The teams will present solely in front of a panel of judges.
3 of the 15 teams will be selected to present in the final round. These 3 teams will not be notified that they have succeeded the preliminary round until the actual time of the final round; therefore, there will be no opportunity to practice on your presentation before the final round.

Final Round: Saturday, September 8, 2012 – 4:00pm – 5:15pm
[ 10 minute Presentation + 10 minute Question & Answer period ]

The winning team selected out of the 3 will receive:

  • A Cash Prize of $1,000
  • Recognition and Certificate as the 2012 Annual Conference & Case Competition’s 1st place team
