Adam recently completed his J.D. at Osgoode Hall (2011), where he served as President (2010-11) and Vice-President (2009-10) of the Osgoode Business Law Society, and as an advisor in the Osgoode Mentor Program. Adam has a broad range of expertise, and has worked in corporate/commercial law, litigation and labour/employment law at the firm of Cox & Palmer, and in family law at the Ontario Court of Justice. He has also studied corporate governance, judicial review and international law at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Israel.
Before embarking upon his legal career, Adam received an honors degree in music from Memorial University. He also studied French at Cégep de Trois-Rivières and piano at the Centre d’Arts Orford, both in Québec, and worked as a camp counsellor in St. John’s and New York. His other interests include fitness, classical music and food.
Daniel Oliveira received his MBA from the Rotman School of Management in 2008. Daniel was one of the original five students that founded the conference in 2007 while pursuing his studies, primarily in marketing and strategy. While a student he was an active executive member of several student clubs, including the Rotman Gay-Straight Alliance, and was recognized for his contributions by being awarded the Gordon Cressy Student Leadership award in 2008. Today Daniel is an Assistant Brand Manager at Procter & Gamble, a job he got as a result of his involvement in Out on Bay Street. Daniel loves good wine and food, but is also very passionate about fitness.
Michael Mirpuri is an International BBA with Honours graduate (2011) from the Schulich School of Business at York University with a major in Accounting and a minor in French. His academic accomplishments include being awarded the Canadian Millennium Excellence Scholarship and graduating with Distinction. He also completed an International Exchange Program (2010 Winter) at IESEG School of Management in Lille, France. After completing an Internship at Deloitte Canada in 2010 within the Audit, Financial Institutions Business Unit, Michael is currently pursuing his Chartered Accountant (CA) Designation at Deloitte.
From a professional background, Michael gained experience at TD Bank within the sectors of Personal Banking, Commercial Banking and Wealth Management and at Starbucks Coffee Canada as both a partner and a supervisor. He hopes to utilize his CA to further advance his knowledge within the finance and consulting sector. With a huge passion for diversity, leadership and mentoring, this is Michael’s fifth year as an active member of Out on Bay Street. His experience with the LGBTQA community and past years at the organization will ensure the proper and professional execution in all current and future initiatives.
Bryan Hui recently joined Ernst & Young LLP as a Staff Accountant and is currently pursuing his Chartered Accountant designation. He specialized in Accounting and majored in Economics at the University of Toronto. This will be Bryan’s third year involved with Out on Bay Street. In 2010, Bryan was the first Corporate Treasurer after Out on Bay Street was officially incorporated as a not-for-profit organization. Prior to joining Ernst & Young LLP, Bryan worked at Swarovski as a Brand Ambassador and also as an Administrative Assistant at the City of Toronto. Bryan has a passion for languages and travelling. As a newly elected member of the Board, Bryan is determined to enhance the Out on Bay Street experience for all this year.
Jacob Kaufman graduated with distinction from the Faculty of Law at the University of Western Ontario. He served as Western Law’s Secretary and Vice President, Internal Affairs and received the Mary Warner Prize in Human Rights and the Dean Ivan C. Rand Award. Jacob will be working as an associate at Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP in the fall of 2011.
In Jacob’s spare time, he enjoys cooking, listening to Gilbert and Sullivan and reading The Economist. He looks forward to helping make the Out on Bay Street 2011 conference the best yet.
